I’m sure you’ve seen some of the commercials lately that have advertised unlimited data usage for some wireless providers, and that the others have a strong limit that you can’t exceed or you’ll face a steep fee.

Most people will head over to their official account on Verizon, AT&T or Sprint’s websites. However, with the iPhone you can actually check your data usage on your own, straight from the phone.

Finding your data statistics is easy. Simply open your iPhone’s settings app. Scroll down to “General,” then click on “usage.” There you will see your minute breakdown and your data usage (sending and receiving) over the cellular network. The data usage will be towards the bottom of the page, so you may need to scroll down. If you’ve never reset your usage stats (which is probably the case if you’re reading this article), you’ll find that this number will be fairly high.

Resetting your stats is just as straightforward as finding them in the first place. To reset your statistics simply press the “Reset Statistics” button at the bottom. Easy, right?

Now you can monitor your data usage on your own, straight from your iPhone. For you heavy data users out there this might be an easy way to precisely monitor your data usage and prevent those unwanted overage penalties.

In the beginning web sites were a one way conversation, and you were simply a visitor and reader to the web site. Then blogging came along and it became a two way conversation. As technology keeps advancing, any web site can now become a social conversation of it’s own, thanks to the power of Glass, an in-browser extension that allows people to talk, share and talk over any web page.

How does Glass Work?

While the concept may sound complicating, for the users of Glass, it’s anything but. Glass is a simple free extension that integrates into your favorite internet browser for a fast, innovative social experience. Once installed, you can create messages from within your favorite web site, sharing and talking with others, or keep your notes private for yourself. Glass is for use with Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and iOS.

You can visit the Write on Glass web site and look through their visual breakdown of how it works, or watch the quick video on their site. The signup process is super fast and only asks for a few fields of data. Once you are setup, you will have access to the members area where you can save and share your favorite sites, along with downloading the Glass in browser application.

Try Write On Glass for Free Today!

How You Can Start Using Glass?

While the concept of Glass may seem like a conversation peice, it can actually be so much more. From a marketing stand point, Glass can help you keep notes and talk with other marketers and business partners while navigating through other web sites. If you are wanting to walk someone through the process of building an ad campaign, you can do this while you and another Glass user are on the same web site.

You can also use the search feature within the Glass members area to search for relevant sites, people and slides based on your desired content. The search results below were for the search term “Pay Per Click“. You can also manage your contacts and “Find Friends” by looking up their email through services like Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail.

Searching for "pay per click", Zac Johnson showcases how easily Glass can search through all of your Twitter and Facebook conversations and return only the relevant results, with the comments displayed contextually on top.

One of the major annoyances and complications of using social networks and outside clients for talking with people around the world, while browsing through web sites, is that you would have to keep jumping between different pages like Twitter and Facebook, or logging onto different chat clients like AIM / MSN Messenger.

Seeing Write on Glass in Action

The best way to explain Write on Glass, is to show it in action. The video below will show you a quick intro on how you can start using Glass and inviting friends to write and chat while visiting web sites.

Glass

UNO for Android supports multiplayer matchups via online pairing or locally through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and is compatable with all versions of Android. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the card game, but for those who don’t it’s worth checking out. UNO allows you to play against other players and match up cards with colors with the ultimate goal of getting rid of all of your cards.

There have been other UNO games released for electronic devices. There was even an arcade version of UNO released as a launch title with Microsoft’s XBOX 360.

Now you can get UNO for your Android devices for free from the Android Market.

After the insanity of Black Friday passes many people think that the holiday shopping season slopes downhill. However, any online shopping enthusiasts know that it really is just beginning.

The emergence of Cyber Monday in recent years has grown increasingly popular, almost to the point of rivaling Black Friday. Most online shopping giants have more Cyber Monday deals than Black Friday deals, so for the consumers the savings don’t have to stop.

One of the reasons people prefer Cyber Monday to Black Friday is the fact that you don’t have to camp out in the cold just to go spend a bunch of money. On Cyber Monday you can sit on your couch with a laptop and still get plenty of great deals.

So, what’s your favorite place to shop on Cyber Monday? Here are a few of my favorites.

Buy.com
NewEgg
eBay
BestBuy.com

Make sure to comment and share your favorite Cyber Monday deals.

I’m sure everybody out there has seen the classic A Charlie Brown Christmas at least once during their lifetime. The cartoon has become a holiday staple over the last several decades after originally debuting on prime-time television nearly 50 years ago.

Now you don’t have to wait for your favorite television network to air the Peanuts Christmas special, you can download it right to your iPad. Sort of.

If you journey over to the App Store you can locate A Charlie Brown Christmas, and download it for $4.99.

The app is more of an animated storybook than the actual film, but it does do a good job of telling the story. The voices of the characters sound just like the original film, but the app is pretty basic. For the price it’s not a great deal unless you’re a hardcore Peanuts fan.

Even though the app has bold graphics and looks great, it doesn’t do much more than simply tell the story. It isn’t very interactive or stimulating, and after going through it once you’ve pretty much seen everything it can do. This is a bit mundane for a five dollar app.

Regardless, if you’re a big fan of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts this might be an interesting app worth checking out during the holidays.

We have a lot of amazing, engaged Glass users. Every so often, one of them will be gracious enough and take the time to write a review of Glass for the world to see. Joe Hackman is one example and has written an amazing review of our flagship product. With his permission, his original review of Glass that he posted on his site—JoesGoneSocial.com—is syndicated below.

Earlier this week I received an invite from Danny Brown to join him on Glass. Being perpetually curious about tech and web applications I headed over and signed up. The last few days the application has really piqued my interest because it creates a new community layer over the internet unlike anything that has been available previously. It achieves this by combining side-wiki like features with a virtual social network. It also allows comments and conversations to occur on any website but privately with the connections of your choice or publicly with any Glass users. It caps all that off with a community streaming function bringing your Glass, Facebook and Twitter content that contain links into one place.

Reasons Glass is useful

Transcends the boundaries of social networks and websites

Allows private or public conversations about any site or page

Creates a community stream of your Glass, Facebook and Twitter

Potential to integrate any social network, blog comment systems

Enables you to share any website or page via Twitter, Facebook and Email

How about a video?

This video that takes a tour of the features and describes in more detail what you can do with Glass and why it may be a helpful tool for you.

Don’t see the video? Try this link instead.

The folks over at CBS Interactive have released a new app that is actually remarkably intriguing. I noticed it first over on Mashable and decided to take a closer look.

The app is free and available in the App Store, and includes a large amount of information and video clips from the true-crime television series. For those of you like myself that enjoy the true-crime style television programs like 48 Hours Mystery this app is going to be remarkably entertaining.

It’s also been released that an in-app purchase will allow the user to download complete episodes of 48 Hours Mystery. For the price of just $4.99 per year the app turns into a way to watch complete episodes of the popular television series, as well as access to the shows official archives dating back to 2005.

The paid version also gives the user previews for upcoming episodes, bonus footage, photo galleries related to the crimes seen on the episodes, and access written transcripts for each episode of the show.

Obviously paying for apps is something that many people refuse to do, but for those 48 Hour Mystery enthusiasts that really dig the show, $4.99 each year seems more than reasonable.

You can download the app through the App Store.

Yesterday we discussed CastleVille taking over Facebook and how its popularity grew after the success of FarmVile. In fact, the success that FarmVille has had on the internet has caused other companies to try and emulate that success through other mediums.

One such medium has been XBOX Live. The popular online gaming community controlled by software giant Microsoft has millions of active users around the world. Through their online community Microsoft is regularly releasing new games that can be bought or downloaded to an individual XBOX hard drive.

After the online success of FarmVille, Microsoft created Farm Frenzy. It is a similar game to FarmVille but is played over the XBOX rather than through a social networking website like Facebook.

Farm Frenzy was relatively successful upon its release so Microsoft is trying again. Tomorrow, Nov. 23, Microsoft will be releasing Farm Frenzy 2 over XBOX Live. Players can download the new game after purchasing it online for $2.99

Many of the goals of the game are similar to the first version and involve keeping your farm fully functional. Watering your crops and feeding your animals are just two of the tasks you’ll have to perform to keep your virtual farm from going dry.

The concept may seem fairly recycled and not as exciting as a first-person shooter, but for three dollars it’s hard not to argue that you’re getting what you pay for. For a simple yet entertaining concept, Farm Frenzy 2 actually makes the grade.

I’m sure many of you are familiar with the Ville series that is playable through Facebook. After FarmVille became one of the most popular games on the internet, Zynga released several other versions as well.

Now there’s CastleVille, and it has certainly taken Facebook by storm. In just under a week, CastleVille has garnered 5 million daily active users — meaning it’s growing faster than any other Zynga game did at this stage.

“CastleVille crossed the 5 million active user threshold Sunday night, just six days after its release. By hitting that milestone, CastleVille‘s growth has outshined other recent introductions from the company, including FrontierVille, which got 2.6 million DAUs (daily active users) in its first six days and CityVille, which received 3.2 million.”*

While CastleVille is rapidly growing in popularity, it still has a long ways to go before catching up to CityVille, which is currently the most popular game on Facebook with over 100 million users.
